Pisa...

We left Florence bright and early Thursday morning bound for Pisa. The historic rain fall was not going to beat us! We were really proud of ourselves having mobilized 6 people and too much luggage not just on time, but early! We were eating our bagged breakfasts provided by our fabulous hosts at our hotel Room Mate Isabella, drying out, and sipping our coffees when we realized our train was not coming up on the board.  After some questions in broken English, Michael came back to break the news. There are TWO train stations in Florence!! Who knew? Of course, we were in wrong station. We found two more cabs and made the correct train with two minutes to spare! We arrived in Pisa excited for our Segway tour, rain or shine!  Our taxis found the Segway place - locked up tight! No  tour, but still trying to keep positive.  They took us to the tower and dropped us off. It rained, it poured, then it rained some more. We found a semi/dry outdoor cafe that took us in. We had coffees and waited. John got smart and bought ponchos for all our luggage. We wrapped up everything as best we could. Still undetered, we took turns, one couple at a time venturing into the rain to see what we could see. We snapped a few quick photos. It was time to say Ciao to Pisa and look for drier
lands! Problem: no taxis anywhere! We split up, the story goes on and on. Historic rain, no cabs, drenched travelers. The rain won, we lost. Somehow we all made it to a train, and headed for Cinque Terre.
